Water ponding in the driveway and runoff from a steep slope caused flooding in the house and garage of this 80-year old residence in the Crescent Hill area of Louisville. Mattingly Engineers was hired to develop a sustainable, environmentally-friendly solution to the drainage and parking problems.

Flooding along Harrods Creek caused severe erosion and slope failures along a bank immediately adjacent to residences of the Harbor at Harrods Creek condominium community. Mattingly Engineers was hired to evaluate the specific cause of failure and develop a long-term solution.

The signature lake at the Majestic Oaks Equestrian Community was unable to maintain a normal pool level due to a corroded principal spillway pipe. Mattingly Engineers was hired to develop a long-term solution that would maintain a consistent lake level for the centerpiece of the community.

Mattingly Engineers was hired by a private homeowner to evaluate the cause of a wall failure at his house overlooking Dale Hollow Lake. Our evaluation, consisting of test pit excavations and visual inspection, revealed the failure was a result of uncompacted clay backfill, lack of geogrid reinforcement and poor drainage behind the wall.
